" Through a clear decision making process and an operational budget that reflects the maintenance and development of the Sydney University Swimming Club Objectives, the Club Committee can determine where it is going, set priorities and measure its success by improved support outcomes for Club members at all levels."
SUSC is a swimming club that encourages its members to compete. This involvement can be at Club, State and National level.
SUSC encourages all members to enjoy swimming as a sport and to enjoy being part of a successful and happy team of dedicated athletes.
SUSC caters for all ages starting from eight years and up competing at Club, State, National and International levels.
“ The young ones draw inspiration from the senior group…We hope to have them for their full swimming careers ...” Brian Sutton.
The aim of the senior program, is to give Australian athletes the chance to continue their sporting pursuits (while getting an education), to provide the right balance in life, now and for the future.
The objectives of Our Club are:
- To provide an effective support framework to maximise the development pathway from grass roots to elite swimmers and coaches, and encourage our members to stay involved in our sport for the collective and mutual benefit of Members and swimming;
- To encourage sportsmanship in competitive swimming and promote performance-enhancing drug free swimming;
- To provide leadership, effective and efficient and professional administration and management ensuring continued growth of Sydney University Swimming Club;
- To enhance fellowship and camaraderie among Club members by providing social activities for members;
- To affiliate to the New South Wales Swimming Association and to abide by the Member Protection Policy and Child Protection and Intervention policy of Australian Swimming (SAL), (as amended from time to time). Affiliation to other kindred bodies may be effected from time to time by the Committee;
- To ensure communication at all levels to enable optimal outcomes and at all times to act on behalf of, in the interests of, and in conjunction, with the Members.
SUSC is run by a Management Committee which is elected at the Annual General meeting in September of each year. Management Committee meetings are held the 2nd Wed. of each month at 6.00pm at the University Sports & Aquatic Centre Conference Room.
